As part of their biological engineering training, 5th year apprentices alternate their courses with ESITech Rouen and the Bio3 Institute - IMT Group. The advantage of their training is that they benefit from Bio3 Institute equipment adapted to their future professional activity.

As part of the 8th skill block, one of the flagship projects of their training is to produce a design study aimed at transferring and modeling a new production building.

The start of this exercise allowed them to go beyond the framework of traditional training so that they could be in contact with the customer to complete the data necessary for the success of their mission. For the production of the requested deliverables, the trainees carried out a significant amount of work in terms of volume and quality.

The Bio3 Institute training module was broken down into 3 steps:

  • Training on cleanroom design solutions
  • Presentation of learners' solutions and improvements
  • Feedback in the context of project management

During the training, the learners were able to integrate the notions necessary for their mission, and allowed them to reflect on their own solution.

Learners were judged on their adaptability to know:

  • Understanding and technical requirements
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Organization and distribution of tasks
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ease of interaction with the client
  • Presentation and justification of choices

In addition to the technical skills they acquired during their engineering training, they were evaluated on soft skills.

For the presentation, they used the HakoBio software of the company OUAT! to create a virtual visit of the premises and justify their choice of design. They also implemented in 3D, the equipment to justify the sequence of the Upstream process (USP) and Downstream process (DSP) steps.
